Bon alors hier c'etait prepara-tifs du voyage (Seb est alle se faire couper les cheveux). Et moi, et moi et bien... Je cuisine!! Et meme que des fois c'est bon. So in order not to disappoint my englishbutfondoffrenchfood friends I will write the end of this message in English. I tried another savoury adapted form a recipe I saw on internet before. Savoury with leek, coco milk and Pavot (i could not find pavot seeds, so it was sesame yesterday. Here is the recipe for approx. 2 cakes:
350 gr self raising flour
6 eggs
200 gr mild grated cheese (mozza or mild cheddar, it is only for the texture, not the taste of it)
1 can of coco milk (400ml)
4 leeks trimmed and chopped
50gr of pavot seeds
butter, salt, pepper
cook the leek in the butter in a wide pan. Don't let it become brown. Before it is completely cooked pour the coco milk, and then let it reduce to 1/2 approx. add salt and pepper.
Mix flour, eggs and grated cheese and add salt and pepper.
Roast the seeds in a dry wide pan.
Mix it all together.
I use silicon mould for the oven: no need for any grease or baking tray. Great.
Cook it for approx 40min, it has to stay tender otherwise the cheese will be overcooked and the whole savoury too dry.
This is very sweet, with very fine taste. You can eat that with salad and a sweet sauce. No tomato coulis, it is too acid and you won't be able to taste the leek.
DELICIOUS!!!
Seb, Ben and I approve.
